For South African families using CAPS, IEB and Cambridge

You don’t have to know the answer to help your child.

Snap a photo of the homework. Aqilo, an AI tutor, walks your child through it one step at a time, and tells you what to say.

7 days free. No card needed.

A child frowning over her homework at a kitchen table, with a parent sitting close beside her

One question. Two explanations.

Your child gets taught. You get briefed. Pick a question and see exactly what Aqilo wrote.

Grade 5 Maths. What is

3/4 + 1/8?

What your child sees

The big rule: to add fractions, the bottom numbers (called denominators) must be the same.

3/4 → bottom is 4
1/8 → bottom is 8

So — what could we turn the 4 into, to match the 8?

It stops there, and waits for her.

What you can say

“Ask her what the bottom numbers are. If they don’t match, they can’t be added yet.”

Try it on tonight’s homework

A mother leaning in beside her daughter at a wooden kitchen table, an exercise book open in front of them

Eight o’clock, most nights

She is not being difficult. She is stuck, and being stuck for long enough starts to feel like being stupid.

The book in front of you looks nothing like the one you had at school. The method changed, the wording changed, and explaining it the way you were taught only makes it worse.

A tutor costs more per hour than most families want to think about, and it is half past seven on a Tuesday anyway.

What she needs is someone to walk her through it. Not the answer.

Homework tonight. Progress over time.

Before every test

Add the test and its topics. Aqilo counts down, shows how ready your child is on each topic, and plans the practice.

After each question

A few more on the same topic while it's fresh, so it sticks. Shaky topics come back before they fade.

Every week

An email of what your child practised. It takes about ten seconds to read.

It won’t promise you marks. Nothing honest can. It will show you what your child actually practised.

Your child’s information.

You decide.
A learner under 18 can't start until a parent or guardian says yes.
Homework photos aren't kept.
They're sent to write the explanation, then discarded.
We hold very little.
A name, grade, curriculum and learning activity, plus an email and birth year if a learner registers themselves.

R249

Paid once, for 12 months. One child. Nothing renews.

A full year costs less than one hour with a tutor.

Step-by-step explanations, what-to-say help on every answer, test prep, practice, a plan and the weekly email. It includes 25 AI questions every 30 days, about one every school day.

Start your free week

The first 7 days are free, with 15 AI questions. No card, so nothing can charge you by surprise.

Private tutoring averages about R330 an hour. Teneo, via Daily Maverick, September 2026.

The things parents actually ask.

Is Aqilo a real person?

No. Aqilo is an AI tutor. It is built to teach the method rather than hand over the answer, and you get a plain-English summary with every explanation, so you can see what your child was told.

Will it just give my child the answers?

No. It teaches the method, works one step, then hands the next step back to your child. With the youngest learners it carries more of the early work, because a six-year-old who feels stuck simply stops.

Which curriculum does it use?

You tell Aqilo which curriculum your child follows, CAPS, IEB or Cambridge, and what grade they are in. That goes to the tutor with every question, so the explanation is pitched at the right year.

Can my child work in Afrikaans?

Yes. An explanation can be switched to Afrikaans, and the summary written for you switches with it, so you are both reading the same language.

What happens when the free week ends?

The tools pause and nothing is charged. Your child's work stays where it is, and R249 brings it all back for 12 months.

There’s homework on the table tonight.
